Open Letter to the Gentlemules:

I grew up at Adams Park and learned many things from the “Gentlemules” over the years...about tennis and, more importantly, about life. As a young boy, I looked up to you and still view you as some of my most positive role models.

The reality is that it didn’t take me long before I could beat you all on the tennis court with my young legs and good form. As you know, I went on to play college tennis and still play competitive tennis around Atlanta. But Adams Park will always have a special place in my heart as will the Gentlemules. I thank you all for my lessons. Know that the spankings I give you from time to time now on the tennis court are just to pay you back!

Sincerely,

Marshall Kleckley

OUR MISSION

The mission of APTA is to provide fellowship to members and to serve the community of Atlanta by promoting the sport of tennis to young people...that they might benefit and learn through tennis and our example:

  • To value hard work and perseverance;

  • To respect themselves and others;

  • To become leaders of their generation; and

  • To mature into teachers of future generations
